Observing and Describing

The members of the Timbira tribe seem to be having trouble with one another. There is no trust between them and that causes problems with communication. Everyone was going behind the others' backs and made their own plans for the tribe. They were being sneaky and trying to manipulate people to do what they want. The tribe needs to be able to speak all of their thoughts about the other members. Not in a hostile way; with people yelling at everybody. People need to get out what they feel in order to communicate better. And there needs to be some trust between everybody. For instance, nobody went with Erinn's plan in the latest challenge and it turned out that she had the right idea. Because she was with Candace previously, nobody trusted her and didn't want to listen to her. The tribe need to get to know one another better and to stop keeping secrets from one another.

True Colors

I picked my own contestant, JT. From what I have seen of JT so far, I believe that his brightest personality color is Gold. First off, it is said that Gold personalities are natural leaders. From the beginning we saw that JT was confident in giving directions and that others followed his advice. For example, when they were first trekking to the camp, Jalapao followed JT's lead. Which also goes to show that JT was very organized. Instead of just wondering aimlessly through the wilderness, he assessed the situation and made plans to make the most of out it. Because of his Gold personality, JT will probably have conflicts with any orange personalities. JT will see them as people who only goof off and don't take the game seriously and have no plans to help the tribe.
I believe that both Sandy and Sierra were able to overcome their "first impressions". Sandy showed that she is not a weak old lady who can't help through her work on the first challenge. And Sierra showed she is reliable when she started to build their camp instead of searching for the immunity idol. She is not as weak and useless as everybody first believed her to be.

Second Impressions

After seeing JT on the show, I believe that my first impression of him was correct. He seemed like a smart, physical guy who knows how to get stuff done. He was charismatic and the others didn't seem to mind him. He was in the lead in the race during the first challenge, which just shows how determined he is. I'll stay with my previous statement that JT has a good chance to win this game.
I do not believe that "first impressions are everlasting". People are not always what they appear to be. This goes hand in hand with Survivor. For instance, in the beginning, Sandy was the outcast for being the older women. Nobody wanted her because they figured she would just slow them down. But when the first challenge came up, she took charge and worked super hard at building the steps, proving that she was not a liability to the group.
I believe we judge people so quickly because that is what our brain tells us to do. It is very hard to look at some one and think nothing about them. Sometimes we have to judge people to know if we think it's safe or not to talk to them. I guess it's a way to just be cautious.

Psychology and Survivor

My survivor contestant is James "JT" Thomas. I think that JT is a determined type of person and that he wants t succeed. He is probably strong and physically fit due to the fact he is a cattle rancher. And he seems pretty intelligent as well. He claims to be able to make good relationships with people, which will really come in handy. I believe that JT will get far in this game, since he is prepared physically, socially, and intellectually. I guess JT has a good chance of winning this game.
