Defense Mechanisms

I believe that Taj was using a defense mechanism, and that caused her outburst. I could see her using two of the eight mechanisms that we learned about. The first one is projection, which is when people see their own faults in other people. She was angry with herself that she wasn't able to work harder for her tribe to win the immunity challenge. And she was upset that she didn't know the others very well due to all her time spent on exile island. Because these things made her mad at herself, she perceived that the others were also mad at her and wanted to vote her off. She believed that nobody liked her. She also could have been using regression, which is going back to an earlier and less mature pattern of behavior. Instead of talking about what was bothering her and what she was thinking, she just exploded and yelled at everyone, much like a child would do. She threw a fit when she was unhappy and didn't care what anybody thought of her, which was very immature of her.
