It's All Over
While I have never watched the show Survivor before, I did enjoy watching it this season. It was fun getting to know a little bit about the personalities of the players and watching them interact with one another. There were some pretty intense moments and, overall, it was a good show. Survivor teaches us how people act in order to survive. People would lie and deceive others to get what they wanted. But they were also honest at times, making friendships and having fun. Basically, I think it teaches us about basic human behavior; what people are like without any modern interruptions. This show is very good to watch in a psychology class. As seen from our previous posts, many examples of what we learn in this class are seen throughout the show. Survivor allows us to see how people think in certain situations, such as a conflict or getting through a physical challenge. Each person is different and they all perceive situations differently, and this show really shows that. Not only do you see how these people come together and act, but you get to hear what they think when they are alone, so you really get an idea of what they are thinking. This is important in a psychology class.
Survivor Finale
-I think that JT and Stephen should not have voted Taj off. First of all, they made promises to each other from the start, they had an alliance they actually stuck to. And I felt that Taj was a better player than Erinn, and she deserved to get further in the game. I think that Taj should have at least been in the final three.
-If Stephen had taken Erinn to the final two, I would have thought that Stephen was not really good person, but that he was a good, strategic player for thinking ahead and choosing Erinn. But I would not have been happy with Stephen for not picking JT.
-I think that two very strong players made it to the end. Everybody had strengths in different areas, so it is hard to decide who the strongest overall was. But I believe that both JT and Stephen deserved to be there. They worked hard and proved that they were strong.
The only problem with the reunion show is that it is too short. I would love to get to see and hear about how the players interacted with each other. I would love to hear more of their comments on why they acted they way they did.

Final Four
With the way the relationships stand now, I believe that Taj, Stephen, and JT will make it to the final three. Right now, JT is against Erinn and Stephen was also upset with her; they want her gone. And they have been with Taj for a long time now, so they won't want to see her gone. I do not think that Erinn will be able to get two other people to vote with her against some one else, simply because the other three have been together for so long. It's really hard to say who in the jury will vote for who, since they have had time to think in Ponderosa and we are not sure how they are feeling now.

Emotional Intelligence
I'm going to analyze Coach for this one.
1. Coach seems to be strong in self awareness. He always seems to be sure of what he is thinking and feeling. We don't really see him second guessing himself much.
2. Coach seems to be weak with mood management. Debbie even said that if someone angers or upsets Coach, he will not let it go for a while. He continues to talk about how he was wronged and to dwell on that fact.
3. Coach's self motivation is also strong. In his mind, he is the best and nobody can do better than him. He is unique and can endure anything Survivor throws at him. He concentrates on these thoughts, ant that motivates him to succeed.
4. The impulse control I am not so sure about. According to him, he has been trained by monks or something in the mountains, so that would give him discipline and good impulse control. Although the fact that he is always quick to get bad at others may be a sign of poor impulse control.
5. Coach does not have very good people skills. He may think he does, but everybody is tired of Coach. He picks certain people to like and looks down on he others, excluding them. And he clearly has no idea how the others are feeling since they are all sick of him and he believes everything is fine. He really needs to work on his people skills.

Multiple Intelligence
JT is both "Body Smart", and "People Smart". JT is very active and seems to be highly coordinated. He may not always win the physical challenges, but he is pretty good at them and gets close to winning. He seems like he would be very "hands on", especially since he is a cattle rancher. I believe that he also has a high score in the interpersonal category. He knows how to deal with people and how to stay on their good sides. He seems to know exactly what to say to people to stay in the game. And people seem to like JT; he is friendly and people enjoy talking to him.
In this game, I believe that being "People Smart" is very important. Even if you can't win every physical challenge, knowing how the other members are feeling could help. Being sensitive to their mood could help you talk your way out of getting voted off.

Food vs. Immunity
I do not think that the decision made by JT, Coach, and Steven was selfish. They were confident in their ability to stay in the game. They are strong players who are able to make good connections. They deserve a chance to just relax. Plus, with the way things were looking, none of them needed the immunity. So, really, they were giving the weaker players a chance at winning immunity. If I were in this situation, I would have played the game. I know that I would not be very good at this game; I would certainly be one of the weaker players and I would want the chance to win immunity.

The Power of JT
I agree with Brendan. If I lost to someone who I could see really deserved to win, I wouldn't mind. If that person worked really hard to get there and I could see that they were enjoying what they were doing, I would be happy for their success. I would keep someone in the game if I liked them, even if I knew that they would beat me in the end. I am not a very competitive person, so I would want to surround myself with people I could talk to and have fun with. If I was around people I could beat but I didn't like, I would be miserable. I would probably only want to be friends with good people who deserve to win the game anyway, so, like I said before, I would be happy if they won.
